Calm Sleep Study
The purpose of this study is to test the feasibility and preliminary effects of a six-week online Sleep Coaching program in adults with self-identified sleep disturbance. We expect about 200 adults will participate in this research. Eligible and consenting participants will be randomly assigned to one of four groups in the Sleep Coaching Program. Based on group assignment, participants may be asked to review videos, read educational sleep-related content, track daily sleep and/or converse with a Sleep Coach (e.g., via video chat, video messaging, or chat messaging) for six weeks. The total weekly time commitment in the Sleep Coaching program is estimated to be less than one hour. The Sleep Coaching program is an evidence-based program that implements components and strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi), Social Cognitive Theory and Self-Determination Theory. Compensation for participants include: Free access to the 6-week Sleep Coaching program and access to a meditation app during the study ($595 value). Participants who complete ~70% (5/7 days per week) of their daily sleep diaries will be provided with a one-year free subscription to the meditation app after the study is over.
